Alex accompanied her little sister, Sage, on a trip up and over Whiteface and Passaconaway. Sage is now halfway through the White Mountain 4K list; the trip report is here.

    Hi Tom,

    Thanks for the kind message! No, you're not crazy. :) As long as you're prepared for the elements, don't mind turning back for any reason, and going at the pace and capabilities of the individual child, you should be fine. Never listen to those who would limit your child's hiking experiences just because he or she is x years old! Age is not always a good indicator of capability.
