On August 30, 2009, six year old Alex and I completed our fifteen month quest for the NH48. We finished on the peak of Mt. Moosilauke, surrounded by a large group of family and friends. This blog contains a record of our peakbagging journeys, along with other, more recent adventures.
Outstanding, all of you are going to have so much fun in the ADKs. Enjoy, I continue to be jealous!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Tobit! Hope to see you again. We enjoyed hiking with you last year!
ReplyDeleteIt's so great to see you enjoying so many experiences with your girls. I wish I could get to your talk this weekend. Thank you for blazing the trails for parents like me (and I'm glad to see I'm not crazy)!
ReplyDeleteHi Tom,
ReplyDeleteThanks for the kind message! No, you're not crazy. :) As long as you're prepared for the elements, don't mind turning back for any reason, and going at the pace and capabilities of the individual child, you should be fine. Never listen to those who would limit your child's hiking experiences just because he or she is x years old! Age is not always a good indicator of capability.
Have a great weekend! We've another talk at the Highland Center on August 6, just so you know.
Good to know! We'll be there (mine are both 3yo).
ReplyDeleteWonderful! Looking forward to meeting you and your young ones.
