A few days ago, the girls and I hiked up to Lonesome Lake (2.4 miles roundtrip, 1000 feet elevation gain). This was Alex's first moderately steep trail since she fractured her tibia in gymnastics two months ago.
All was well; Alex hiked at her pre-injury pace and descended in her typically rough-and-tumble fashion (running and jumping into the snow, sliding as fast as I'll let her, etc.). Both girls were their normal goofy selves.
We've one more appointment at Childrens Hospital in Boston next week...I think they'll proclaim her good to go.
Soon, the girls and I will travel to Hawaii and ascend Mauna Kea (our 35th highpoint). When we return, Alex, Sage and I (and Max, our border terrier) will be back on the NH4K trails.
